GCP/RAS/185/JPN “Capacity Building in Biosafety of GM Crops in Asia”
Regional Training Workshop on Risk Assessment and Management of GM Crops
The Regional Training Workshop on Risk Assessment and Management of GM Crops, 3rd of the regional training workshops being sponsored by the project for the participating countries (Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam) will take place from July 26-29, 2005 in Tokyo and Tsukuba, Japan. The training workshop will be conducted by FAO in collaboration with the Biotechnology and Safety Division, Research Council, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. The project will be sponsoring one participant from each participating country (training fee, international air fare, DSA and miscellaneous expenses).
The participant should be a regular employee of any institution or agency in your country which is in-charge of formulating and implementing biotechnology regulation including environmental risk assessment and management of GM crops. He/she should have a strong background or extensive experience in biotechnology or risk assessment and management of GMOs.
Please forward to the project secretariat name of your nominee together with his short resume/CV including if available passport details on or before May 25, 2005. Official invitation from FAO-RAP will be issued through FAO representative office in each country thereafter. |
